I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
There are all kinds of unique restaurants in Ohio: restaurants housed in former schoolhouses, nostalgic diners, haunted historic taverns — the list goes on! Today’s feature restaurant is a horse of a different color, however. Mala Hotpot is a restaurant that offers guests a truly interactive, choose-your-own-adventure kind of experience, where meals are deconstructed into components that diners assemble and cook at the table. And just to make things even more interesting, you’ll have your meal ingredients delivered by a robot, making for a truly memorable and wholly unique dining experience in Ohio!
Have you ever looked at a menu and thought, If only I could mix and match these dishes to concoct my very own culinary creation? And have the aforementioned meal delivered to me by a robot? (Haven't we all?) At Mala Hotpot in Ohio, you can enjoy this kind of next-level, future-forward dining experience...
For those unfamiliar with hotpot cooking, the concept for this Chinese classic is delightfully simple. You'll peruse the menu and select your soup ingredients.
Each table has its own heating elements and cooking pots. Ingredients come prepped, washed, and chopped, so all you need to do is wait for the broth to boil!
The combinations are endless. Will you cook your ingredients in a spicy or mild broth? Are you in the mood for beef, pork, shrimp, or tofu? Feeling like eating a rainbow of vegetables, or would you rather go for a Ron Swanson-inspired bowl of all the meats? Decisions, decisions.
