I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
The Buckeye State is a weird and wonderful place that’s home to some truly unique oddities and attractions. The National Barber Museum And Hall Of Fame, however, might just be the weirdest. This quirky Ohio museum is, as its name suggests, an homage to the art and history of barbering, and if you’ve never been, we highly recommend making a day trip out of this fun destination.
What's the fastest way to look clean and fresh? A visit to the barbershop, of course.
Here you will be transported back in time through the thousands of beautifully maintained barbershop items from all over the country, including vintage signs, tools, chairs, and more.
Today's kids have it good... iPads and lollipops and colorful animal barber chairs. The kids' chairs of yesteryear are a bit intimidating! And don't look the most comfortable.
So the next time you put off going to the barber or have a kiddo who's reluctant to get their hair cut, kindly remind them that the spa-like salons of today are a far cry from the barbershops of yesterday!
Have you visited this quirky Ohio museum before? The National Barber Museum And Hall Of Fame is an only-in-Ohio attraction sure to make you smile… and learn something new!
And when you’re in the area, why not stop and stay awhile? The Ohio Log Bed and Breakfast offers an impossibly charming place to rest your head for the night.
