I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.

There’s a well-known Saturday Night Live sketch where the fictional “Taco Town” commercial showcases epic, next-level taco deliciousnesses. “Pizza? Now That’s what I call a taco!” Fans of Taco Town will be pleased to learn about Happy Dog, an equally epic eatery with the most creatively topped ‘dogs around. If you’re hungry for a hot dog that satisfies every crave-worthy combination you could possibly imagine, head to this quirky restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio.
A hot dog is a delicious, all-American icon that's as delightful on its own as it is all gussied up.
But Froot Loops? Spaghetti-Os? Flamin' Hot Cheetos? That's a horse -- or should we say dog -- of a different color. And precisely what you'll find at Happy Dog.
Located on a humble street corner in Cleveland, Ohio, this quirky restaurant has made quite a name for itself as the best hot dog joint in town... and the state!
The restaurant is known for crazy, off-the-wall, so-weird-but-so-good hot dog combinations that challenge diners to pile as many crazy toppings as will fit on the bun.
Don't discount these dogs as all fluff and no substance, either. Happy Dog's frankfurters are locally made with their very own recipe by Blue Ribbon Meats -- vegan dogs come courtesy of Field Roast. Toppings run the gamut from sweet to savory: pork-n-beans, beer cheese, marinated mushrooms, house-made peanut butter, fresh slaw... if you can dream it, it's probably on the menu!
And yes, if you're wondering: Happy Dog *does* have other things on the menu besides hot dogs and tater tots. There's a delicious corned beef reuben that often graces the menu as a special, and believe us when we say it's a darn delicious rendition of this deli favorite!
