Ohio’s nature scene is seemingly endless. Just when you think you’ve explored all there is to explore, you stumble upon a nature preserve you’ve never noticed before or a metro park you didn’t know existed. Piatt Park Gorge in Monroe County is a nature lover’s paradise that few Ohioans know about. When you need a little adventure in your life, it’s perfect for a short day hike.
Tucked away in the Monroe County Park District, this hidden gem of a park features more than 100 acres of old growth forests, unique rock formations and waterfalls.
You'll find it close to Woodsfield, traveling East on State Route 78 to CR30 to TR2308.
The gorge is deep and adventure awaits around every corner. Majestic hemlocks and enchanting ferns will make you feel as if you've temporarily entered another world.
