Alpacas are sweet, gentle creatures that are raised for their incredibly soft fleece. If you want to learn all about alpacas and see them up close, Ohio has several alpaca farms, but there’s one in Grafton that offers an Alpaca Experience you’ll want to try.
Take a look at Our Little World Alpaca Farm. This gorgeous farm is home to around 50 alpacas, and they're waiting to meet you.
Address: 16800 Cowley Road, Grafton, OH, 44044
Alpacas are herd animals who enjoy human company. In fact, when you arrive at the farm, they might come running to greet you!
Baby llamas are called crias, and they're every bit as sweet as you'd imagine. You might get to meet some precious little crias at the farm's Spring Open House. Visit on June 15, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to learn all about alpacas and see them up close. The festival is free.
The farm is also open to the public on National Alpaca Farm Day, September 28 and 29, 2019 from 10: a.m. to 4 p.m., and again for Christmas in the Alpaca Barn November 30th and December 7th, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you want to visit during the rest of the year, book an Alpaca Experience. It's a private experience on the farm where you'll learn about alpacas, and see them up close. You can take photos and videos while you're there so you'll always remember your day with these cuties.
The Alpaca Experience lasts around 1.5 hours, and costs just $15 per person. The experience is available on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and most Saturdays. Call Joy to reserve your visit: 440-724-7070.
Shearing occurs once a year, and the fleece is used for all kinds of things. It's often spun into yarn that's used to knit hats, socks, gloves, sweaters, and more. Softer than sheep's wool, alpaca fleece is warm and luxurious.
Our Little World Alpaca Farm has its very own store where you can shop for all kinds of items made with alpaca fleece. Take home a hat or sweater, or get some yarn and make your own.
The farm store is open various hours throughout the week.
