Although summer will be over before we know it, we all know the summer heat can linger longer than anticipated. If you find yourself feeling bogged down by the summer heat and humidity, there are several things you can do throughout the state that will give you the relief you need. The following are 12 things you should definitely do on a hot summer day in Ohio when you need to beat the heat.
2) Check out the Velvet Ice Cream Company and Ye Old Mill in Utica for an inside look into the production of the world’s favorite summer treat— and for some smooth, freshly made ice cream of course.
7) Explore one of Ohio’s many (and often free of charge) museums and be enlightened about the country/state you call home (and cooled off in the comfort of AC.)
10) Explore the Ohio Caverns, (located in West Liberty) or the Seneca Caverns, (located in Bellevue) to escape the sun’s rays and release your inner adventurer.
12) Take a drive with the top down (or the AC cranked up) for the sake of taking a drive to remind yourself just how beautiful the state you live in really is.
