I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Teeming with historic points of interest, charming antique shops, family-run restaurants, and an abundance of old and new attractions, Lebanon is a place that’s peak small-town vibes and the perfect place for a weekend getaway in Ohio — especially during the holiday season. Because in November and December, Lebanon transforms into a magical Ohio Christmas town that’s irresistibly charming; the kind of picture-perfect place that’s straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting.
Downtown Lebanon is classic Americana at its finest: well-maintained old buildings, century-old houses, diners, and lots of downtown charm.
Truly -- there's something extra special about visiting Lebanon during the holiday season, in which the town dazzles with hundreds of lights, red-and-green wreaths, community festivals, and irresistible, undeniable Christmas cheer!
In fact, if you're looking for your very own Hallmark holiday movie experience, visit during the annual Lebanon Horse Drawn Carriage Parade, the town's most famous to-do that's truly movie-level charming.
Speaking of holiday movies, Hallmark actually filmed "The Christmas Spirit" in Lebanon, transforming the Golden Lamb Inn into the fictional Laurel Springs Inn!
Around town, historic spots like the Glendower Historic Mansion and Arboretum also get decked to the nines for the holidays, making for an extra enchanting and magical experience in Lebanon. Tours are available, and if you're into old homes, definitely check out the holiday happenings at this historic mansion.
In addition to all the seasonal activities, the town's Lebanon Mason Monroe (LM&M) Railroad hosts an annual North Pole Express that's easily one of the best Christmas activities in Ohio, and a beloved tradition for many Buckeye State families.
There's no place like home for the holidays. And for those of us lucky enough to call Ohio home, Lebanon is a Christmas town sure to capture your heart.
