If you had to pick the most laid-back town in the state, what town would you pick? A sleepy fishing town? A charming historic town? A beach town?
The Great Lakes are home to some of the best small town beaches. Here in Ohio, the small town of Huron is a gorgeous lakeside town that’s somewhat of a hidden gem to Ohioans not from the area. If you find yourself in northern Ohio this summer, you need to take a day and visit this quaint Lake Erie town. Here’s why it’s one of the most laid-back, enjoyable towns in the state:
"A Great Lake Place," the town of Huron is a gorgeous lakeside town in Erie County that's picture perfect for a day trip.
It's located at N. Center St. and is open from dawn to dusk.
You'll definitely want to visit Nickel Plate Beach will you're here. It's one of Ohio's best little-known Lake Erie beaches that's perfect for a quiet beach day.
You'll find it on Nickel Plate Drive, just off of Tiffin Avenue. Note: There is a $5 parking fee and Beach Water Quality Testing is conducted by Erie County Health Department, with results posted on Erie County Health Department Beach Monitoring website under "Huron River East."
Before you leave, be sure to snap some photos of this gorgeous Lake Erie beach town.
You'll absolutely love visiting this underrated beach town.
