We all know that Ohio is full of beautiful places to explore and hiking trails that will leave you in awe.
There is one trail, however, that offers an unforgettable hiking experience, breathtaking views and photo opportunities you simply won’t find anywhere else in the world. If you’ve yet to hike the Old Man’s Cave trail at Hocking Hills State Park in Logan, you’re truly missing out. It’s arguably the most beautiful hiking trail in Ohio—and it will make you feel like you’re temporarily living in a Lord of the Rings film. At approximately one mile in length, this gorgeous trail takes about an hour to complete, so it’s perfect for a day hike you can take your time exploring.
Take a look:
Some areas along the trail can be strenuous, but there are several stairways and handrails along the way. (And you'll need to be extra careful around water.)

You're able to hike through tunnels within the cave (which will really bring out the adventurer in you.)
Legend has it, a 19th-century hermit who once lived in the cave, (named Richard Rowe) is buried under a cave ledge in the area.

There are several other unique sights you'll see along this trail, including the Sphinx Head. (Can you see the old man?)

Cedar Falls (pictured) is a popular spot for kids (and adventurous adults) to cool off during a hike to Old Man's Cave. (It's best seen after a heavy rainfall.)

You'll even see The Devil's Bathtub, which flows into a bowl-shaped basin, forming a captivating whirlpool. (While legend has it that the pool extends deep into the depths of Hades, it's actually no more than a few feet deep.)
