I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Mother Nature has long been a muse to painters and poets, supplying sublime landscapes worthy of immortalizing through pictures and words. Claude Monet has been hailed as the father of impressionism, a style of art wherein the French painter sought to create nature as he saw it. The irony here is that Monet suffered from cataracts so severe that he was considered legally blind by the end of his career. Nevertheless, Monet’s attempts to capture nature by memory resulted in one of the most iconic art collections of all time, his waterlilies. Like many Frenchmen, Monet famously disliked the United States, and while he never visited Ohio, there’s some truly inspired beauty here I think the artist would have appreciated. In Cincinnati, Ohio, the landscape of Eden Park is gloriously lush and dynamic, ever-changing with the seasons to present a picture-perfect nature scene all year round.
Have you taken in the scenery at Eden Park before? This beautiful park is a small slice of paradise in Cincinnati, Ohio, and I think Monet would have been swept away by a such serene and sublime scene. You might even find yourself inspired to do some painting after visiting the park — and the art museum!
