I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Mother Nature has long been a muse to painters and poets, supplying sublime landscapes worthy of immortalizing through pictures and words. Claude Monet has been hailed as the father of impressionism, a style of art wherein the French painter sought to create nature as he saw it. The irony here is that Monet suffered from cataracts so severe that he was considered legally blind by the end of his career. Nevertheless, Monet’s attempts to capture nature by memory resulted in one of the most iconic art collections of all time, his waterlilies. Like many Frenchmen, Monet famously disliked the United States, and while he never visited Ohio, there’s some truly inspired beauty here I think the artist would have appreciated. In Cincinnati, Ohio, the landscape of Eden Park is gloriously lush and dynamic, ever-changing with the seasons to present a picture-perfect nature scene all year round.
Claude Monet's paintings capture the beauty of the natural world in the most brilliant, dazzling way -- layered brush strokes and rich colors depict the dynamic, sun-dappled beauty of the natural world.
Monet's beautiful home and garden in Giverny, France, was a well of inspiration for many of his paintings. The lush gardens and water lilies; the trickling ponds and foot bridges -- this landscape was Monet's greatest muse.
Cincinnati, Ohio, might be worlds away from Monet's countryside estate, but there's a stunning landscape here that's literally up the hill from the city -- and I daresay its beauty rivals the late artist's home.
Eden Park is one of many Cincinnati destinations that perfectly blends nature, history, and beauty. The historic park includes many notable areas, such as Krohn Conservatory, the Art Museum, Mirror Lake, and Twin Lakes.
The gazebo is part of the experience -- this man-made feature is one of the most photographed locations in Cincinnati, in fact!
Surrounded by apple blossoms in the spring, enveloped in verdant greenery in the summer, awash in fall foliage come autumn -- Eden Park is completely rapturous all year round.
There's an undeniably romantic quality to Eden Park that I think Monet would have appreciated -- my husband and I actually had our wedding photos taken in front of Twin Lakes, and the sublimity of this Cincinnati, Ohio, park has served as the backdrop to so many other couples, too!
Have you taken in the scenery at Eden Park before? This beautiful park is a small slice of paradise in Cincinnati, Ohio, and I think Monet would have been swept away by a such serene and sublime scene. You might even find yourself inspired to do some painting after visiting the park — and the art museum!
