There are actually many gorgeous waterways throughout the state — including Lake Erie, one of the country’s Great Lakes! That means the state is a haven for kayaking, and kayaking is a great way to see Ohio in a new light. Here’s one of our favorite trails.

There are many Lake Erie Islands water trails, and they all show you a new side of the area.

You can kayak up to 30 miles on this trail, which takes you to a variety of spots within the Lake Erie Islands.

It starts at Catawba
Island State Park and ends at
Marblehead Lighthouse.

This preserve lets you experience beautiful marshlands and see the most unique and gorgeous birds.

Pull up wherever when you'd like a break from the water!

Such a lovely, historic site makes for a great ending point.
