In western Ohio and looking for a fun afternoon? We’ve got a great adventure planned for you! Head to Caesar Creek State Park and check out the beauty of Horseshoe Falls, then drive about an hour to reach historic Crabill’s Hamburgers, an adorable (and tasty!) relic of days gone by.
Check out the route on Google Maps and see for yourself – it’s right around 50 miles and will be a little over an hour with traffic.
Caesar Creek State Park is one of the prettiest parks in Ohio, no matter the season. The park is over 3,500 acres and has multiple trails and even a nature center that's a blast for kids.
One of the easiest trails at Caesar Creek is the Horseshoe Falls out and back trail. It's under two miles and not very steep, so it's suitable for even beginner hikers.
Check out the information page on Alltrails for details!
About an hour away is Crabill's Hamburgers, a charming little joint that will have you longing for days of yore. You'll feel like you stepped back in time when you enter the unassuming building!
The restaurant is one of the most beloved spots in Urbana, and it's easy to see why.
Crabill's opened in a small garage in 1927 (hamburgers were just a nickel each!). The restaurant is now owned by the founder's grandchildren, who are proud to carry on the family legacy of good, fresh food at affordable prices.
The menu is simple - you can get your slider plain or with everything (cheese, pickle, onions, mustard). There's something to be said for not having a complicated selection to wade through! They also serve hot dogs and pie, but the burgers are the real draw here.

Their sliders are small but packed with flavor - you'll want to order a whole sackful! They also offer locally made Mumford's chips
