As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Having lived in the Cincinnati area my entire life, Hocking Hills has long been a favorite destination for an Ohio weekend getaway. Within just a few hours, you can be amongst some of the best hiking trails in the region and away from the hustle of everyday life. We tend to go back and forth between visits to Red River Gorge in Kentucky and Hocking Hills, but after this last trip, we may have found our new go-to spot. I’ll Have S’More is a beautiful, modern cabin tucked into the woods, close to all of the best features Hocking Hills has to offer. While we did do some hiking during our visit, most of our time was spent relaxing by the outdoor fireplace, soaking in a hot tub, and just marveling at the endearing features of this unforgettable Hocking Hills rental cabin.
Hocking Hills State Park and the area surrounding it are ideal for a quick getaway in Ohio.
I actually live in NKY, but it was still under a 3-hour drive to reach our cabin rental, which was close enough to make it just a one night stay. We drove in on a perfect fall day and the backroad that leads to I'll Have S'More was as vibrant and idyllic as you can imagine.
The cabin was very easy to find and was close to the trailhead for some of the most popular hikes in the Hocking Hills Area.
After a couple of hours of hiking and a quick lunch, we arrived at the cabin right at check-in time. This gave us the entire late afternoon, evening, and next morning to enjoy all this cabin has to offer.

When I say the day could not have been more perfect, I truly mean it. And the views we experienced once we stepped inside the cabin beautifully featured the fall foliage.
My favorite thing about this cabin is its windows. You are tucked safely and warmly inside, but you still feel as if you're outside with all of the natural light. The living room is spacious and comfortable with a tv and fireplace. It's also open to the kitchen.

The kitchen is a cabin rental dream come true. All of the finishes and decor throughout the cabin are not only lovely but also functional.
The kitchen had everything we needed to make our own dinner and enjoy it at the island. It truly felt like home away from home, and in the most serene and private setting.
The rest of the interior of the cabin is just as special and is ideal for two people, two couples, a family with older children, a getaway with friends, and more.
Check out this relaxing soaking tub that's situated inside the "wet room" of the primary bathroom. The shower and tub are all in the same corner of the room and a high window allows more natural light to pour in.
Downstairs, the third bedroom is a bunk room and there is also a rec room area that is perfect for movie watching.
We spent the evening curled up on the (incredibly) comfy sofa, under blankets we found in the closet, watching Netflix. If you have small children and have enjoyed a night away, you know why this was a very welcomed treat!
What's a cabin rental in Hocking Hills without a hot tub? I especially loved this one because it is situated on the screened-in porch, which means no bugs!
This massive porch also has a ping pong table, tables for hanging out or eating, and more comfortable outdoor furniture that is arranged in front of a fireplace.

As much as we loved the indoor areas of the cabin, the porches really do steal the show, especially in the fall.
But honestly, this view would be beautiful any time of year and I would absolutely stay here in the dead of winter or the heat of summer. Give me a book, hot or iced coffee - depending on the weather - and I'd be perfectly happy.
Actually, that's exactly what I did as the sun went down, right in front of the fireplace on that same porch that has the row of black Adirondack chairs.
The next morning was spent in the same spot, with a big cup of coffee, a blanket, and the sounds of Hocking Hills waking up. What I did not hear, or see for that matter, were any other people. It's such a quiet place to relax and recharge.
There's something about a getaway in the woods that is so good for the soul and it's even better when you find such a warm and welcoming place to stay.
Whether you've been to Hocking Hills many times - and even hiked the trail shown above - or you've never been, I'll Have S'More should be on your bucket list. Plan a trip for yourself, grab a few friends, or even gift the experience to someone. I know we will be back and I can't wait to hear all about your time spent at this modern cabin getaway in Ohio.
I’lll Have S’More is the perfect destination for a Hocking Hills getaway. Whether you’re looking to get away with your partner, enjoy a girls’ weekend, reconnect with your teenagers, or any other number of reasons, don’t forget about this modern cabin in the woods that has just what you need… and s’more ;).
