Throughout each week, month, or year, you’re probably thinking about what kinds of new places you want to explore. (For some inspiration, check out these best places to visit in Ohio.) There’s nothing like taking a day trip to a little-known attraction or a town you’ve yet to explore.
The small town of Dover, Ohio is hiding some really unique pieces of history, delicious cheese, and other gems you’ll want to check out. Take a look:
Tucked away in northeast Ohio, you'll find this quaint Tuscarawas County town that's home to about 12,000 residents.
Pictured above is the Reeves Victorian Home and Carriage House Museum, which dates back to 1870 and was home to Dover industrialist Jeremiah E. Reeves and his family. You'll find it at 325 E Iron Ave., Dover, OH 44622.

The Warther Museum and Gardens is a must-stop when you're in town. It's a little-known museum hiding a world renown collection.
Dedicated to wood-carver Ernest "Mooney" Warther, you'll observe a rare collection of trains carved out of ebony and ivory. This rare handiwork makes up a collection that the Smithsonian considers to be priceless. Don't forget to take a walk through the gardens during your visit. The Warther Museum and Gardens is located at 331 Karl Ave., Dover, OH 44622.
For lunch, (and an excellent wine tasting, of course), we recommend stopping at School House Winery. What used to be an 1886 one-room schoolhouse is now one of Ohio's most unique wineries.
On the menu, you'll find some light appetizers, pizzas and subs. School House Winery is located at 455 Schneiders Crossing Road Northwest, Dover, OH 44622.
Another neat museum we recommend seeing while you're in town is the Auman Museum of Radio and Television. With more than 200 television sets and decades of history to explore, you'll feel as if you've temporarily went back in time.
It's a rare treasure that's full of American history every Ohioan should get the chance to explore. You'll find this museum at 215 N Tuscarawas Ave, Dover, OH 44622.
Before you leave, you simply have to pick up some cheese at the Broad Run Cheese House. It's legendary and no visit to Dover would be complete without it.
