While natural wonders such as the Ohio Caverns, Old Man’s Cave, Cuyahoga Falls, and Kelleys Island often steal the spotlights as the most beautiful places in Ohio, we’d like to nominate one of the state’s regular, old metro parks for such praise. Just outside Columbus, Three Creeks Metro Park is a glorious place that’s an honest-to-goodness, real-life paradise in Ohio.
There's an iconic moment in "The Wizard of Oz" where Dorothy opens the door of her drab, Kansas farmhouse and enters the technicolor wonderland of Oz.
Three Creeks is named for the confluence where Alum, Big Walnut, and Blacklick creeks join. The park is home to a variety of trails and is a favorite for seasoned and casual hikers as well as birders and dog walkers.
Outdoor enthusiasts come to Three Creeks Metro Park to experience a literal breath of fresh air; a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Ohio's capital city.
