I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Hocking Hills is well known for its outstanding beauty, but this region transforms into something truly sublime come winter. The cold air and frozen waterfalls of this Ohio State Park are undeniably alluring, but there’s a winter festival in nearby Logan that’s the (ahem) frosting on the cake. Each year, the darling downtown district of Logan is filled with one-of-a-kind ice sculptures that dazzle and delight, along with lots of winter-themed activities sure to warm your heart and soul. Bundle up and head to Hocking Hills, Ohio; here’s what awaits at the 7th Annual Logan Frozen Festival on Jan. 20, 2024.
When it comes to charming small towns in Ohio, it's hard to beat Historic Downtown Logan. Home to some 7,300 residents, this town in southeastern Ohio attracts loads of visitors throughout the year for so many reasons.
With Hocking Hills State Park in the town's proverbial backyard, some four million people head to the hills each year to partake in some of the best outdoor recreation in Ohio... and the entire Midwest.
These aren't your typical ice sculptures, either. The artistic flair of Logan, Ohio, is on full display with dozens of fanciful, fleeting works of ice-carved art.
If you've ever wanted to see what it takes to create these frozen works of art, you'll have lots of chances with the various ice block carving demonstrations!
It's not all business, however; in true Ohio festival form, the Logan Frozen Festival features lots of family-friendly activities -- last year's frozen Skee-Ball was a huge hit, and folks always enjoy seeing which food vendors are featured at the event.
If ever there were a reason to bundle up and embrace winter in Ohio, the Logan Frozen Festival is it! Even better? Oh, and did we mention it's free? We'll see you there!
Did you know about this frozen festival in Ohio? The Logan Frozen Festival is an enchanting event that’s straight out of a fairy tale… but better, because it’s wholly, wonderfully real! Visit Explore Hocking Hills on Facebook for more information… and while you’re in the region, book a night at the Getaway House and really let yourself enjoy the splendor of winter in Hocking Hills.
