I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Food is love, and there’s perhaps no culture where this is more loudly and proudly celebrated than Italy — and, by extension, Italian cuisine. All across the country, you’ll find big chains and small-town spots that celebrate this adopted American classic, though purists (hi, it’s me) might argue that what you’ll find in those “never-ending pasta bowls” is a far cry from the Old Country. In the middle of the Buckeye State, however, there is a family-owned and operated Italian restaurant that does this cuisine justice. Benvenuto and welcome to Moretti’s, an Italian restaurant in Dublin, Ohio, that will make you feel like famiglia from the moment you step inside.
From all appearances, Moretti's looks like your standard suburban restaurant: a small, family-owned business specializing in one of America's favorite international cuisines: Italian.
This award-winning Italian restaurant has been a beloved part of the decidedly Irish community of Dublin, Ohio, since opening its doors all the way back in 1984. Their secret? There are several: high quality standards that include using only the freshest ingredients; a commitment to fresh-made *everything*; and, perhaps most importantly, treating every patron and party like famiglia.
When you come to Moretti's, prepare to be fed. Now, I'm not one to turn down a carb, but oftentimes, the bread at restaurants is lacking. Sorry, stale, heated-from-frozen... it's definitely not appetizing. So a place that serves hot-from-the-oven, made-from-scratch bread? That earns major points in my book.
Of course, this Italian restaurant also scores major points for its fresh pasta. I make a lot of things from scratch, but fresh pasta is not one of them. It truly is a labor of love that I recognize and appreciate so much.
In fact, *all* noodles on the menu are house-made and done on-the-spot -- something the restaurant prides itself on. This fresh pasta is the foundation for all of the delicious items on the menu -- and what a strong (yet delicate and tender) foundation it is!
Feeling less... saucy? Chicken Picatta is a major crowd pleaser that features chicken with sautéed mushrooms and green beans over pasta that's been swirled in lemon, butter, and garlic.
No one turns down dessert at this establishment, either. The tiramisu is outstanding and truly the only way to end a meal... with a glass of vino, of course. Buon appetito!
Have you dined at this Italian restaurant in Dublin, Ohio? This charming town in Ohio might be best-known for its Irish culture, but Moretti’s is a hidden gem bringing Italian flair and delicious cuisine to the party! And while in-house dining is certainly my recommendation, you could also order carry out and bring the pasta party home — just be sure you have ample pasta plates and wine glasses!
