I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.

There are some truly spectacular Christmas light displays in Ohio; the types of events that feature millions of twinkling lights and spectacular, larger-than-life holiday scenes. While I certainly enjoy a big and brilliant holiday festival, for me, nothing beats a good, old-fashioned drive through neighborhood displays and decorated downtown areas. Home-grown displays like the Hagerman Christmas Lights in Mansfield, Ohio. For over 60 years, the Hagerman family has been putting on quite a show in their hometown, and with 2023 being the “farewell season” of this epic Christmas light display, this year’s event is definitely worth adding to your holiday to-do list.

The lights turn on at Thanksgiving and will burn bright each night until January 1, 2024. The family will be auctioning off displays during that time, so if you feel compelled to grab the torch and keep the lights aglow for future generations, don't delay!
Many thanks to the Hagermans for 63 years of holiday magic in Mansfield, Ohio.
