If you think that sounds good, wait until you discover that it will only take a tank of gas and minimal time in the car. Google Maps, in fact, offers three routes between the Dundee Falls Trail in Dundee and Blazin’ Burgers in Dover. All routes take less than 22 minutes. The fastest route will take you 11.1 miles in 18 minutes while the longest route spans 11.7 miles in 21 minutes. However, none of the routes take traffic into consideration.
Sprawled across 393 acres, Beach City Wildlife Area in Dundee beckons adventurers with its many outdoor activities – from boating and birding to fishing and hiking. Dundee Falls Trail, in fact, is an ideal trail for hikers of all ages and skill levels.
The picturesque trail, which is rated easy, spans just two miles, but those two miles are drenched with natural beauty, including the breathtaking Dundee Falls.
Before you set off, however, make sure you’re wearing sturdy hiking boots, a pair that you don’t mind getting muddy. The trail winds through a forested area and can get pretty muddy.
Follow the red blazes, which sometimes can be difficult to spot, that will first lead you to a small waterfall. The trail does come which some challenges, such as roots and rocks, so keep watch as you’re walking.
After the first waterfall, you’ll cross a creek and make your way to Dundee Falls, a beautiful waterfall that provides the perfect backdrop for photos.
The cascade drops down approximately 12 feet and is beautiful no matter what time of the year you visit. If you’re a fan of waterfalls, you might want to visit during each season, especially in the fall when the cascade is flanked by colorful foliage.
After a leisurely hike and all of that fresh Ohio air, you’ve probably worked up a mighty appetite. Fortunately, the trip to Blazin’ Burgers in Dover should take less than half an hour.
