Here in Ohio, there’s nothing like a trip to your local farmers market. Year-round, however, it gets tricky to find some locally made goods since much of the produce isn’t in season. Smith Farm Market is a year-round market that features so much more than produce. It’s a central Ohio gem you’ll want to seek out next time you’re in the Columbus area. Check it out:
With two locations in central Ohio, this family owned and operated market features more than your usual farmers market finds.
You'll find it at 3341 Winchester Pike, Columbus, OH 43232 and 380 Agler Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230.
In addition to fresh produce, you'll find an expansive bakery and a wide selection of flowers and vegetable plants. Everything here is made or grown fresh from your local farmers.
Most of the Smith Market produce is grown directly from the family's farm in Beverly, Ohio. (Their sweet Georgia peaches and Tennessee tomatoes are purchased from other family farms.)
All food groups are accounted for at Smith Farm Market. The refrigerated and frozen sections feature local meats. (Some frozen fruit is also available.)
Note: The Gahanna location is open daily from 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Be prepared for your mouth to water when you reach the baked goods section. From pies and cookies to candy buckeyes and pumpkin rolls, everything here is delicious.
