There are many places in Ohio that have stood the test of time. At the top of the list is the Deersville General Store. Opened in 1898, this beloved establishment has more than a century’s worth of history, fond memories, and hospitality. Setting foot inside this designated National Register of Historic Places site feels a bit like stepping back in time — in the best way, of course. Here’s more on what you can look forward to when you visit the Deersville General Store.
It's also the kind of place where you can stop by for some delicious Ohio home cooking. Photographed below is a generous helping of homemade sausage gravy and biscuits.
In fact, some believe this to be the best ice cream in Ohio! You'll have to order up a cone or a scoop to test that theory for yourself. Flavors include all the traditional ones plus fun varieties like Root Beer, black raspberry, birthday cake, toffee crunch, and more.
What's even more impressive is the fact that all the ice cream is made on-site with a machine from the 1940s!
