Wine is one of those timeless beverages that lends itself to being served at many social events and functions. It makes get-togethers more flavorful, and it enhances the flavors of many delicious foods. Here in Ohio, we benefit from a microclimate that produces many different grapes with distinct flavors. Ohio wines are a delicacy, and our wineries love spotlighting these local flavors. One of the coolest wineries near Cleveland is just about 40 minutes away, and in addition to wines, cocktails, and slushies, it also has goats. That’s right… cute little critters to keep you company during your excursion! If you’ve never been, a visit to The Winery at Wolf Creek is in order.
Charming and off the beaten path, The Winery at Wolf Creek offers a breathtaking escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. While many wineries closer to Cleveland charge a pretty penny for their beverages, the drinks and snacks at Wolf Creek are surprisingly affordable. Paired with an incredible view, it's well worth the drive!
This hidden gem south of Cleveland is truthfully a slice of paradise.
Down the hill, you'll spot the glimmering Barberton Reservoir. You can hike to it, but be aware that the walk back up the hill is steeper than it looks. Make sure you have enough wine for the journey there and back!

Since 1980, its vineyard has grown Seyval, Vignoles, Cabernet Franc, Riesling, and other types of grapes.
On your way down to the reservoir, the multitude of grapes decorating the landscape will surely catch your eye. Take a moment to stop and admire... you won't find countryside beauty like this in the city!

These estate-grown delicacies are used to craft delicious, palatable wines with playful names.
Some wines are made with imported grapes (which is good news for fans of California and Washington wines), but many are grown on-site. Reds, whites, and more offerings ensure there's a flavor to delight every palate. With fun names like Blind Faith and Original Sin, it's easy to remember which beverage you fell in love with.
During your visit, you can relax in the Tasting Room with beer, cocktails, or wine.
Check the website for Tasting Room hours. They do vary by season, but this charming countryside winery is open year-round to provide you with easy access to locally made wines.
During the warmer months, their patio and expansive landscape are packed with patrons and pups.
The wine slushies are a hit with patrons all year long. Enjoy on-site or grab one to-go! If you do decide to enjoy one during your visit, be sure to head outside to enjoy it while overlooking the landscape. Together, the flavors and the view will take your breath away!
The same can be said for the breathtaking landscape surrounding the winery.
Visitors can't say enough about this lovely landscape. It's the perfect place to picnic, and food from off-site is welcome. You can also enjoy items from their small menu or stock up on comfort food from their rotating selection of visiting food trucks.

It's a magical place to catch up with friends, enjoy a quiet picnic and a book, or soak up the sweetness of birdsong.
If you're planning a special event, you can also rent space at the winery to make your memories magical. You might also enjoy private luxury picnics or attending public events. From live music to breadmaking and tarot, this is a cool spot with much to offer.
Plus, there are adorable goats on-site that you can feed and befriend.
The resident 4-H goats are a hit with visitors. You can purchase goodies to feed them, and they're quite friendly when you have food. Without it, their friendship is a bit harder to earn... but they make adorable company!
It's also worth mentioning that on the weekend of the Kentucky Derby — the first Saturday in May — the winery hosts its annual Goat Derby. Enjoy food trucks, photo ops, and the opportunity to bet on winning goats with all proceeds benefitting local animal charities.
Opt for a glass of wine or grab a bottle to share with the whole table... either way, you won't break the bank!
Most of the bottles offered are well under $20, and they're tastier than what you may find at bigger/busier wineries. Many groups opt to buy several bottles of wine to share a variety of flavors and finger foods.
Many Clevelanders have yet to experience the majesty of this winery... add it to your bucket list now!
