Clevelanders are always making something, it seems. Whether it’s craft beer, hand sanitizer, handmade foods, or upcycled goods, we have a lot of big thinkers with a creative side here in Greater Cleveland. Such a talented population has resulted in artistic neighborhoods across the area, but it also has resulted in an explosion of local restaurants, breweries, and even distilleries. One of the best places to try craft spirits in Cleveland is Western Reserve Distillers, a fairly recent newcomer to the craft spirit scene. Take a look:
Western Reserve Distillers is hiding in plain sight on Madison Avenue in Lakewood.
Everyone knows about Cleveland's craft beer scene, but what about local liquor production? As it turns out, The Land's craft spirit scene is every bit as impressive as its craft beer scene... and Western Reserve Distillers is at the forefront of it all.
This cozy, family-owned distillery produces a variety of certified organic goods, including bourbon, vodka, and whiskey.
And, like many Greater Cleveland businesses, they source grains locally... all of their grains come from Ohio farms within 150 miles of the Lakewood distillery!
As is true with many Cleveland businesses, the Coronavirus left an impact on Western Reserve Distillers' on-site food business. However, they've recently reinvigorated the menu and are offering food once again!
New menu items are added bit by bit, and nightly or weekend specials ensure the selection always feels fresh and inspired. Bring your friends... there's something for everyone to enjoy!
Madison Avenue is an awesome place to unwind. As the cultural hub of Lakewood, this street is full of restaurants, shopping, and more... and the patio is perfect for people watching!
You'll also appreciate the ambiance of the space inside, which features a bar as well as a handful of more intimate tables.
Whether you're stopping by in person or ordering online, you'll greatly enjoy these locally crafted beverages... and you might even like their flavors better than more familiar brand names!
If you've never had a chance to explore the Cleveland craft spirit scene, then this awesome destination belongs on your bucket list.
Stop in for a drink, pick up a cocktail mix to go, or stock up on locally made hand sanitizer. Whatever brings you in, you'll feel right at home with the Western Reserve Distillers crew.
There are a handful of places to try craft spirits in Cleveland, but Western Reserve Distillers is one of the best. Have you ever visited this awesome destination? Which of their craft spirits did you like best? Tell us in the comments!
