Is there anything more wonderful than discovering a new waterfall for the first time? When you first take in the splendor of its power, you can’t help but feel humbled and awed. Now, imagine that you can actually walk behind the waterfall into a natural room. Such a reality is only a short drive away from Cleveland, and it is truly magical!
Bainbridge Township in neighboring Geauga County is a fun little community with an unquenchable thirst for adventure.
The township thrives with a population of about 11,500 in a 26-square-mile community. While you may not have heard of it before, you've probably heard of its northern neighbor, Chagrin Falls. This charming township was established in 1817, and it is plain to see why the first residents fell in love with this community. Life in Bainbridge Township is serene and laid back, and the landscape also hides one magical secret.
But this picturesque township, quaint as it may be, hides one spectacular waterfall.
The mighty flow of the Aurora Branch of the Chagrin River once fueled the former village of Centerville Mills, though its remnants were dismantled by the 1930s.
Early spring is a particularly wondrous time to experience the mighty river that once fueled a mill town, as melted snow and rainwater fuel its waterfall's crest.
