The small cities and communities surrounding Cleveland offer locals the opportunity to explore and enjoy a more relaxed way of life without ever having to travel far. Our nearby small towns each have their own personality and flavor, but they all share a common charm. However, when it comes to enchanting winter scenes, few places can capture the splendor of the season like Victorian downtown districts. At this one lovely location in the south end of Medina County, the community becomes a scene straight out of a snow globe, and you have to see it to believe it.

This teeny tiny community is overflowing with charm. It dates back to 1814, and today it consists of a mere 21,000 people across a vast 10-mile landscape.
This quaint Victorian village is frozen in a slower, more relaxed era...
This historic district is lined with shops, restaurants, and studios that add a unique flavor to this eclectic community. There truly is something for everyone, and the setting of each charming shop will transport you back in time.
You'll adore seeing history come to life in this picturesque community.
The Johnson House is a cherished sight in Wadsworth. This charmer is actually a museum, though you'd never guess by its homey allure. It sits at the edge of the charming Downtown streets, dating back to around 1852. Over its history, it was the home to one carriage factory owner, a reverend that would go on to become a Wadsworth mayor, and several doctors. Today it houses a museum that provides free community tours on Saturday mornings between 9:30 and 11:30.
You will probably want to see the local cemetery covered in snow, too.

Sound creepy? Think again. The extravagant outdoor architecture of Woodlawn Cemetery, located just outside of downtown, is especially entrancing in the winter. Its breathtaking landscape is certainly worth the visit.
Valley Cafe is a great place for comfort food and a purely-Wadsworth experience. The environment is overflowing with local pride, and the food is pretty delicious, too.

Wolf Creek Environmental Center, also known as the Alderfer/Oenslager Wildlife Sanctuary, features a warm and cozy lodge as well as a number of trails through enchanting habitats. With 248 acres to explore, you could spend nearly an entire day at this park alone.
From its eclectic farmers' markets to its mom and pop shops, there is always something to see and do in Wadsworth. Sonnets, pictured, is another cute cafe that captures the heart of its community.
Gather some friends and pick a weekend, because you'll want to explore this super charming winter landscape.
