A staycation is pretty much the budget-friendly version of a vacation. It involves traveling around one’s own backyard, visiting local attractions and places of interest, and then sleeping in the comfort of your own bed when all is said and done. Cleveland is a great place for a staycation, allowing for romantic road trips and family-friendly functions alike. Locals have always known what a great place this is to call home, but a national travel site has recently announced its agreement.
Or, more appropriately, welcome home. This dreamy city is home to just under 400,000 people and located on the south shore of Lake Erie. It was first named in on July 22, 1796, and its first permanent settler arrived in the area around a year later.
Expedia's Travel Blog recently recognized Cleveland as a top city in the United States for a staycation, and we couldn't agree more.
Sure, it's great to bury your toes in the sand with a fruity drink in hand, but nothing is quite as lovely as the real-life watercolor that unfolds on pleasant days over Lake Erie.

All throughout our local parks are reminders of the gorgeous creatures we cohabitate with. Birds, butterflies, deer, and river otters adore this area, and it's no secret why.
Beaches, scenic overlooks, cliffs, and Lake Erie bluffs provide incredible views of Greater Cleveland. Who wouldn't want to call this dreamy place home?
