Spring has finally arrived in Greater Cleveland, and petite green shoots are starting to break through the ground.
Henry A. Ross was a 23-year-old World War II veteran when he decided to borrow enough money to purchase a 16-acre plot in Strongsville. He purchased the land in the winter, though, and was dismayed to find that the soil was hardly adequate to grow anything.

After over a decade of dedicated TLC, founder Henry Ross built the tropical paradise he'd always dreamed of.
Exotic and unusual species make this landscape unlike anything you've ever seen. In the garden's 10-acre arboretum area, there are as many as 2,500 species of unusual trees.
There is a small admission fee of $5 per person, but it is to support and maintain the grounds. Currently, only one full-time employee caters to the garden.

Paradise, it seems, is hidden away at 16711 Pearl Road in Strongsville.
