Amish Country is close enough to Cleveland for a quick day trip, but there’s so much to do in the area that you might as well make your visit a weekend-long adventure. To help fill up your itinerary, you’ll want to explore local shops, bakeries, and even vineyards. During your explorations, you just might stumble upon a winery in a former Ohio schoolhouse that’s well worth a visit. Check it out:
Dover is a city of just over 12,000 residents that was established in 1807... and this is the school that residents would attend decades later.
Built in 1886, this stunning structure has always been nestled amidst the greenery of Tuscarawas County. It was formerly known as Oak Grove School #6, although it has a slightly different reputation today than ever before.
The old schoolhouse is now a winery, appropriately named School House Winery, and it is overflowing with history.
This landmark location near historic Zoar is often hailed as one of Ohio's most unique wineries, and it is plain to see why. There's quite a bit of charm in this pretty landscape!

School House Winery is open Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 9 p.m., staying open just one hour later on Friday and Saturday nights.
