Getting into the great outdoors is a real treat in Northeast Ohio. In addition to a diverse landscape with all sorts of unforgettable natural features, our area also boasts the magnificent Cleveland Metroparks. This park system got its start over a century ago, and it has since expanded to encompass more than 23,000 acres of natural and restored beauty. Today, we’re going to take a trip to North Chagrin Reservation in Willoughby. While the area is best known for Squire’s Castle, it also has a secret natural overlook that will make you feel like you’re on top of the world. Check it out:
North Chagrin Reservation is one of the older parks in the Cleveland Metroparks district. It has attracted visitors since the 1920s, and little has changed since.
This beautiful Cleveland Metroparks reservation is renowned for its beauty, as each of its trails is filled to the brim with charm.
To plan your trip, check out the Cleveland Metroparks' trail map. The hike we're about to take is beautiful, but there's so much more to see in the park.

The Overlook Trail, however, is one of its loveliest hikes...
This trail can be accessed via several other trails, but the Museum Trail offers one of the most direct routes. The Museum Trail also has several different parking lots nearby for your convenience.

...And that's true no matter what season you visit.
Wear proper shoes and remember to leave your pups at home for this hike, as the animal residents in this portion of the woods enjoy the quiet solitude of the forest as much as you will (and dogs aren't allowed on this trail).
During the spring, this hike is full of wildflowers and songbirds. After the summertime foliage begins to change, the hike is lit up by rich reds, oranges, and yellows.
Bring your camera, because the beauty of this path is something you'll want to cherish.
Some like to take panoramic pictures of the overlook, so be sure to check if your phone has that feature before you head out if you'd like to do the same.
