Once upon a time, the cities outside of Cleveland felt more rural than suburban. Today, communities in Northeast Ohio are, for the most part, densely populated, but farmers, makers, and growers still thrive in some parts of the region. In Medina County, one of the best year-round farm markets is located in the old Medina Farmers Exchange warehouse… and it’s newly renovated, too! Prepare to discover pure wonder at The Exchange Market in Medina.
The old Farmers Exchange building in Medina is a familiar sight to many.
Believe it or not, this is the third building at the site of the Farmers Exchange. The first two burned down years ago, although certain elements of the old structures remain post-rebuild. It was officially condemned in 2016, but the years (and a visionary group of locals) have been kind to it.
Nowadays, it features 16 apartments upstairs and a whole market space downstairs.
The Exchange Market opened its doors in 2019, and locals couldn't be more excited. Its spread of artisanal ingredients, foods, soaps, and more offers an additional degree of excellent shopping options to area residents.

The market, which includes a coffee shop, a butcher's counter, a brewery, a restaurant, and more, has quickly become a favorite for locals.
The anchor of the market is Keller Meats, a local producer that takes food from farm to fork. While many love the offerings at the butcher counter, you'll also want to keep your eyes peeled for the delicious smokies. The staff is happy to help you pick a flavor if you need insight from an expert!
Don't want to prepare the meat yourself? You can try it at The Farmer's Table, an on-site eatery specializing in cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. Swing by Sunday for brunch!
For others, it's the selection offered by the multitude of locally owned businesses that keeps them coming back.
There's so much to see here that you may have to wander around the building a few times before you decide what you want to buy. It's totally okay to take your time... there's a lot to take in!
Whether you're shopping to stock up your own kitchen or to snag goodies to share with friends, you'll be surprised by the selection.
Look for The Exchange Market at 320 S Court St, Medina, OH 44256.
