The entirety of Northeast Ohio is covered by a stunning landscape. It is easy to find beauty, even in the most surprising places. Some of the region’s loveliest attractions are right here in Forest City, and the city’s scenery particularly comes to life when spring arrives. With March just around the corner, the opportunity for sun-filled outdoor adventure is enticing. There’s no need to wait for the warm weather, though, because this one Cleveland cemetery is stunning in every season.
Garden cemeteries were more comparable to parks than modern cemeteries. A flawlessly manicured landscape accented with flowers and shrubbery adds an earthy flair to cemeteries like Lake View.

The landscape of Lake View is unlike anything you've ever seen.
Gorgeous etchings, stunning statues, and impressive stone work are defining features of this landscape. Some of its landmarks, like the Haserot Angel, are subjects of local legends.
And it spans a jaw-dropping 285 acres, so you could spend all day exploring.
This stunning building was completed in 1890, nearly 10 years after the president was assassinated. Its ornate interior is richly accented with mosaics, columns, and an impressive 12-foot statue of Garfield himself.
The monument is open to the public daily from April through November, so be sure to visit and admire the view it offers.
When one thinks of splendid cemeteries, cities like Savannah and New Orleans immediately come to mind. The uninformed might not imagine Cleveland hiding such a lovely spot, but Lake View’s beauty is worthy of legend.
