At the heart of Cleveland is the vibrant Public Square, a stunning cultural hub that is always abuzz with activity. Many insist that heart is beating stronger than ever. In 2016, Public Square’s existence gained new significance as it underwent notable changes. After eight years of planning and $50 million in renovations, the Square was re-dedicated on June 30. But one spectacular thing was unveiled during last year’s festivities: a mirror pool; a stunning feature that would become an ice skating rink in the winter months. This year it has returned for its second season, and you simply must visit this amazing attraction.
Welcome to the coolest winter scene in Northeast Ohio!
This spectacular outdoor ice skating rink was opened by the Cleveland Foundation in November of 2016, much to the delight of locals. This attraction, as you can imagine, makes the perfect addition to our wintertime cityscape.
Located in the Cleveland Foundation Centennial Plaza, this rink is located centrally to all of Cleveland's loveliest monuments and buildings.
The Travel Channel compiled a list of 16 super cool outdoor ice skating rinks, and Cleveland's rink naturally made an appearance. This stunning wintertime attraction has helped the city gain even more recognition amidst a cultural renaissance that is taking place within the community.
The rink is open through February 28, 2018. Its hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. each Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
Admission is $10 per skater, which includes skate rental, or $7 per skater if you bring your own skates.
Christmas caroling will take place on select dates in December, making the milieu of Downtown Cleveland absolutely magical. You won't want to miss this holiday season in Cleveland's very own winter wonderland.
