This 28-room mansion once housed Industrialist John Henry Hower and his family.
As an active figure in the milling and cereal industries, Hower found his fortune. He and his family traveled around the world and collected many treasures, which they used to adorn their home. The home stayed in the family for nearly a century before it (and the treasures the family collected over the years) was donated to the University of Akron.

Now a National Historic Landmark and a museum, the Hower House offers visitors an unrivaled glimpse into the past.
Exhibits are just one of many ways visitors can travel back in time. Concerts and speakers are also regular happenings at the museum, allowing visitors to interact with the past in a unique way.
