The Lorain County Metro Parks are gorgeous, and they offer a fantastic landscape worthy of exploration. While the Cleveland Metroparks may be in our own backyard, there’s great value in exploring this alternative landscape. It is made magical with the addition of snow, and one park in their district offers the best horse-drawn carriage rides near Cleveland. Take a look:
This gorgeous park is one of the most trafficked in the Lorain County Metro Parks. Its five miles of forested trail are absolutely enchanting, especially when coated in a gentle frosting of snow.
This enchanting landscape hides the Benjamin Bacon Museum and Carriage Barn at Mill Hollow, which offers an unprecedented glimpse back in time.
During operating hours, the circa 1845 Benjamin Bacon Museum offers visitors a chance to see what life in the area used to be like. The Carriage Barn and its stunning fireplace delight visitors, often hosting nature seminars and other informative events.

As the holidays approach, the Carriage Barn becomes ever more inviting.
In addition to stunning wintertime events, Vermilion River Reservation also offers charming carriage rides. They accompany incredible reconstructions of life in the 1860s, and more than 20 talented actors will keep you entertained.
The carriage rides are totally free, and they’re just one of several activities that will raise your spirits.
Holly jolly hearthside cooking demonstrations will leave your tummy growling, and live music will have you feeling merry and bright. Coffee, cookies, and cocoa will be available for purchase to ensure you stay warm and cozy.
