The leaves are changing, the air is cool, and we have suddenly become surrounded by pumpkin flavored everything. It’s safe to say that autumn weather has arrived, though the official first day of the season is still just around the corner. Don’t worry, though; just pull out a jacket, grab a cup of hot cider, and get ready. Awesome autumn activities abound in the Greater Cleveland area, but there’s no better way to kick off the fall season than with a hayride.
1. Hayrides at the Chalet - 16200 Valley Parkway, Strongsville
Rain or shine, there is no better place to go for a hayride than within the Cleveland Metroparks. October 7 through 28, hayrides depart approximately every half hour between 6 and 10pm. Tickets are $9 for adults, $7 for children 3 to 11, and free for children under 2. Hay throwing is both permitted and allowed, as it is a tradition on these hayrides! If that's too much energy for you, no worries; there is now a no-throwing hayride available for adults and young children who want a laid-back ride around the Emerald Necklace.
Beginning September 25 and continuing throughout October, Pumpkin Pandemonium will delight visitors to this quaint farm! Enjoy hayrides, corn mazes, pumpkin picking, and a variety of fun fall things all in one place. Visit between noon and 5 p.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays, or stop by between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the weekends.

3. Pumpkin Village at Mapleside Farms - 294 Pearl Road, Brunswick
Pumpkin Village offers the best family fun experience every fall. Enjoy hayrides, a giant Cleveland-themed maze, and apples galore at this quaint orchard.

4. Pumpkin Festival at The Red Wagon Farm - 16081 East River Road, Columbia Station
On Saturday, September 23, this epic festival kicks off and continues every weekend in October. Here, scarecrows come to life and fall festivities abound.
5. Fall Fun Weekends at Ridgeview Farm - 5488 Kinsman Road, Middlefield
You simply must pay at least one visit to this amazing farm on a weekend between September 23 and October 29! Fall festivities like a petting zoo, corn maze, and pick-your-own pumpkins are available in addition to hayrides. Open between the hours of
11 a.m. and 5 p.m., this epic destination is well worth the drive over to Middlefield.
Mark your calendar, because on weekends between September 13 and October 31, Beriswill Farm transforms into a fall wonderland. Beriswill Farm Market and Corn Maze is open Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
7. Old West Pumpkin Fest - 19066 E River Road, Columbia Station
Rockin-R-Ranch has entered its most festive season and the fun reaches its peak on October weekends, when the Old West Pumpkin Fest brings out the Pumpkin Patch Hayrides.
8. Patterson Fruit Farm Hayrides - 11414 Caves Road, Chesterland
September 16 through October 29, the Fun Fest brings all kinds of autumn activities to Northeast Ohio. You can experience a 50-foot double slide, climb an epic tree house in the woods, and get lost in a scenic corn maze. All of this is in addition to the amazing hayrides that will be available throughout the Fun Fest! They are open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Reserve your tickets for this epic adventure full of chills and thrills at the Lake Metroparks Farmpark. After the hayride, participate in creepy festivities like a stroll through the haunted graveyard and a glow stick dance show.
Enjoy a 20-minute hayride that carves through the most scenic fields and woodlands in this 700-acre farm. Operating daily, hayrides are included as a part of admission.
