There’s a pleasantness about the changing seasons in Northeast Ohio that is difficult to describe to non-natives. As the heat and humidity of summer begin to subside, the landscape comes alive with a crispness that could make your heart race. Colors burst from the trees, and, curiously, an inexplicable smokiness makes its way into the air. The season of late night bonfires and oversized hoodies is upon us, and festivities are popping up all across the region. One farm becomes an autumnal wonderland once the seasons begin to change, and now is truly the loveliest time to pay it a visit.
When the very tippy-tops of the trees begin to rust into shades of pale red, locals look to one local fruit farm for fall fun.
Patterson Fruit Farm has two locations - one at 11414 Caves Rd. and one five minutes up the road at 8765 Mulberry Rd. These Chesterfield farms are coveted year-round for their fresh produce, and both become especially festive as the temperatures begin to cool.
The urban landscape of Cleveland meets the quaint countryside of Geauga County here, and the result is an endlessly charming farmstead.
These two destinations are well worth visiting on the same trip, as they each have a unique atmosphere to offer. You can pick apples on Mulberry Rd. or select freshly picked varieties at the Caves Rd. Farm Market.

Their quaint little country store will steal your heart - it's as sweet as pie!
All of the baked goodies pair perfectly with a glass of apple cider, especially their pies and donuts. The bakery is open year-round, tantalizing visitors with the sweet aromas of freshly baked deliciousness.
Haystacks, tree houses, corn mazes, and a double slide will leave your inner child delighted. Pony rides and pumpkins will also be on the premises, allowing locals to immerse themselves in all things autumn.
A refreshment stand will be on-site to refuel you after a romp through the outdoor farm area and ravines of scenic Geauga County.
There is so much to love about autumn in Greater Cleveland, and locals just can’t get seasonal festivities off of their mind. There are plenty of places where one can enjoy the seasonal fun, but there’s definitely a reason why this fruit farm is a fan favorite. What’s your fondest memory here?
