Once the season to be jolly approaches, Clevelanders prepare for the winter. We double-check the cars for snow scrapers, prep the scarves and gloves for easy access, and then we unpack our holiday decor. For many, this includes hand-selecting a real tree to fill the home with fresh scents and holiday cheer. For nearly 200 years, one farm in the Cuyahoga Valley has continually delighted visitors. It’s the best destination for a live Christmas tree near Cleveland!
Hiding in the midst of the Cuyahoga Valley is a gorgeous family-operated farm that has operated since 1848.
The Christmas Tree Barn and Michelle’s Greenery Shop have everything you need for a magical season. Decorations like wreathes, centerpieces, and swags will make your season beautiful, and the Coffee Corner by the big fireplace is the coziest place to warm up.

You see, as the temperature cools and winter encroaches on the region, this farm in Peninsula offers cut-your-own and pre-cut Christmas trees!
Visitors can hand-select Black Hills Spruce, Blue Spruce, Scotch Pine, and White Pine to cut down and take home. These are also available in the pre-cut selection, which also includes Fraser Fir and Concolor Fir.
The farm opens November 27 and operates until its offerings are sold out. It is, however, closed on Thanksgiving.
And the gorgeous landscape (as well as quaint features like a model train in the Christmas Tree Barn) offers charm that the whole family will find irresistible.
Kids will particularly adore the on-site Teddy Bear Trees. These trees, marked with adorable stuffed animals, will benefit local charities. Proceeds will be donated National Great Pyrenees Rescue kennel, New Beginnings, as well as food and necessities for Rubber City Rescue.
Cut-your-own fields close at 5 p.m., so be sure to plan your trip accordingly.
And bundle up! The hot cocoa and cookies will warm you up afterwards, but the hills and forests of the Cuyahoga Valley can make for a cold and windy encounter.
Heritage Farm is a winter wonderland. It's plain to see why this destination has become a cherished tradition for so many!
