Northeast Ohio has a splendid array of foliage that is absolutely enchanting. Cleveland itself is gorgeous in the fall, but some of the finest autumn colors can be found in the suburbs. The Cleveland Metroparks encompasses the loveliest forested portions of the region, which means visitors will enjoy the very finest Ohio leaf-peeping along the park district’s many trails. The largest of the parks in the Cleveland Metroparks district is Brecksville Reservation, which is a fall paradise that nature lovers will find irresistible. Are you ready to soak in the glory of autumn? You’ll find the sights, smells, and sounds of the season in all their untamed glory at Brecksville Reservation.

Deer Lick Cave is one of the coolest caves near Cleveland, and it is one of many features you will find in Brecksville Reservation. It is so named for its salinity— deer purportedly lick at the sandstone in search of lingering salt! The rock was formed, after all, when an ancient ocean covered the state.
The extensive collection of trails in the park includes a portion of the Buckeye Trail, but some of the more underrated landmarks are located on smaller trails.
Never hiked by the Meadows Trailhead? You should add it to your Brecksville Reservation bucket list, because you'll find scenery like the landscape captured in the image above.
And though the park is stunning in every season, autumn is a spectacular time of year to pay a visit.
Even in years with late and minimal foliage, this park is breathtaking, offering an impressive collection of flora, so you'll find a surprising spread of color each and every autumn. You'll also find a number of rare plants growing on the ground, so keep your eyes peeled!
Streams, meadows, forests, and gorges make Brecksville Reservation a must-see destination.
