It’s nearly impossible to go for an entire day without reading something (you’re doing it right now), but for bookworms, it’s a way of life. It is so easy to get lost in a story, to associate oneself with characters, and to imagine that the real world is a much more magical place when you’re immersed in a good book. We’re the people that romanticize the smell and feel of books, who dream of a library like the one Belle is gifted in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. If you think books are a little slice of heaven, just wait until you get lost in the literary paradise of this incredible bookstore.
This is the place to go if you're looking to hone your skills as an author and get to know who's who in the literary world. Pictured above is Laura Wimbels, author and photographer of Faces of Cleveland, making an appearance at this cheerful community bookstore.
Each visit is filled with wondrous surprises and discoveries.
Owner Jim McSherry bought a used bookstore in Chagrin Falls and moved it to Kent in 1978. It remained there for a only a year before it moved back to Chagrin Falls. As it grew, they opened a second location on Coventry. Over the years, this wonderland has called three spaces on Coventry its home. This three story location, however, has been the coziest.
Cleveland is home to many wonders, but few places can delight bibliophiles quite like Mac’s Backs-Books on Coventry. Have you ever visited this fantastic community bookstore? If not, this destination should top your Greater Cleveland bucket list.
