Clevelanders are well aware of Franklin Castle. We all grew up hearing local legends regarding the site, but the reality is that the entirety of Franklin Boulevard is rich with a fascinating history.
The gorgeous Robert Rhodes Mansion, located at the intersection of Franklin and Fulton, has served as a juvenile detention home, nursing home, and school to the Franklin Circle Christian Church where a U.S. president once served as a pastor, is just one example of the nearly endless history in this pretty district. The mansion has housed some of Cleveland’s most prestigious residents over the decades, and now, for a night, it can be your home, too. Prepare to travel back in time in style, because we’re about to unwind in one of the loveliest mansions in Cleveland.
Welcome to the intriguing Wallace Manor Bed & Breakfast.
Located at 4724 Franklin Boulevard is a home that dates back to the 1880s. It was built by Robert Wallace, but it was revamped by a dreamer named Scott Staley in the 1990s.
Behind this door lies one of the coziest and most luxurious getaways in Cleveland.
You'll feel like royalty as you enter the castle-like home. It was constructed from locally-quarried Berea sandstone and it has a feel that's nothing short of extravagant.

While local hotels are abuzz with activity, this welcoming B&B is quiet and relaxing.
The spacious rooms are carefully decorated with antique elegance. While many minimalist modern comforts can feel rather uninviting, this well-loved home features many warm surprises.
Whether you find yourself in the Wallace Room or another suite, you'll likely get the best night of sleep you've ever experienced.
As you may notice, the dramatic headboard of this king-sized bed is unlike anything you've seen. It uses pocket doors that are original to the mansion to create such a gorgeous design, and similar surprises abound throughout the manor.
And you may even uncover hidden tidbits of Cleveland history throughout Wallace Manor.
The stunning Walnut Room is so named for the wooden features that wrap about the space. Upon first glance, you probably wouldn't guess that these features are salvaged remnants from the old Hippodrome Theatre that once resided on Euclid Avenue. The site entertained locals up until the 1970s and was eventually razed in 1981.
From the comfortable confines of your bedroom to the snug porch and gardens, Wallace Manor offers visitors a home away from home.
This striking structure is a mesmerizing piece of local history, and its beauty is a reminder of what the talent and determination of our community can accomplish.
