Greater Cleveland, the metropolitan area that surrounds our lovely city, includes over two million residents throughout Cuyahoga County, Geauga County, Lake County, Lorain County, and Medina County, and it’s a region that is known for its beauty. In this chunk of Northeast Ohio, there are oodles of lovely towns that offer scenic beauty, incredible shopping, and history galore. Today we’re going to venture into one such town, and it can be found in the southwest corner of Geauga County.
This Geauga County township is home to roughly 11,000 residents, allowing it to maintain an element of small-town charm while hosting a modern population.
This town features a little bit of everything, but its rich history is one of its most delightful aspects.
This community dates back to 1811, when the McConoughey family traveled from Massachusetts in search of a new home. 600 miles later, they became the first family to settle in this gorgeous community. As other farmers began to populate the area, Chillicothe Road grew out of an old Native American trail.

The Historic Tanglewood golf course features over 130 acres of seemingly endless beauty. Complete with babbling brooks and blue lakes, this 18 hole golf course and its facilities are adored by area residents.
As a 298-acre park, Frohring Meadows is truly a treat for hikers and locals alike. With trails totaling around 3.5 miles, the opportunity for exploration could span an entire day. These former farmlands capture the stunning beauty that once covered Ohio's natural prairies.
Coyote Mexican Grill & Cantina is a local eatery with big flavor. Their comfort foods are inspired by Tex-Mex flavor, and endless color adorns each and every dish.
There's no sweet shop quite like Raised and Glazed Donuts. Though donuts are their specialty, they make a little bit of everything. Everything is prepared fresh daily, and locals love a good coffee and cookie to kick off each day.
For a small town, this community is certainly not without grocery stores, dining opportunities, and easy travel.
