FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art is a region-wide celebration of art in its rawest form. The festival combines artist commissions, performances, and other public demonstrations to bring incredible art to an ever-evolving American city.
This incredible festival will unite local, national, and international artists in one incredible region.
This image by artist Jonn Herschend captures the spirit of the celebration with color and an optical trick. The real trick, however, is bringing such an impressive roster of projects to our region. The artists are at various points in their careers, and each is truly visionary in their own way.

Cleveland is a work of art in its own right, littered with lovely architectural gems and flawless public parks. The city has always seemed ready to become a stage for artists, but this summer we're finally taking the leap to make it happen.

The inaugural celebration will bring color to museums, civic institutions, and other public spaces throughout Northeast Ohio.
"In Sickness and In Health," an installation by artist Beverly Fishman, has the power to make you ponder reality. Many such exhibits will delight you throughout Cleveland, Akron, and Oberlin this summer, encouraging research and collaboration among a local and international audience.
Running from July 14 to September 30, 2018, this incredible triennial will confront social, political, and cultural issues in a truly moving way.
Based in Copenhagen and New York, artist Maryam Jafri is well aware of the most pressing issues of this day and age. Many of the works, you will find, will confront Cleveland's history and the current state of being in a time in which our nation is deeply divided.
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Cleveland's streets in its most welcoming institutions, these exhibits encourage conversation among spectators.
In a true celebration of the diversity of thought, artists bring their visions to life in ways you simply must see to believe. As you stroll through exhibits and ponder their beauty, their absurdity, or complexities, you are encouraged to let your thoughts flow.
Not only will you find yourself exploring the history of iconic destinations, but you'll learn a lot about a little bit of everything in the course of this one celebration.
You'll find yourself immersed in a series of cultural exercises and explorations, and you'll also explore some of the most incredible venues in the area.
