1. Franklin Castle

Franklin Castle holds the dubious distinction of supposedly being the most haunted building in Ohio. Whether you believe in the paranormal or not, this once-ornate home is still a hair-raising sight to behold after decades of abandonment and decay.

2. House of Wills

This gloomy abandoned building doesn't look too weathered by time, but don't be fooled - going inside would be unwise. Even creepier? The House of Wills was once a funeral parlor, and reports of strange and ghostly sightings in the windows abound.
3. Euclid Square Mall

The most recent closure on this list. It first became a dead mall in the '90s, and it only became more desolate in the following years. Euclid Square Mall was home to several churches as recently as 2013 before it finally closed its doors for good.

4. Detroit-Superior Underground Station

This streetcar station has been abandoned for decades, but remnants of its storied past remain today. You can see the rusted-out skeletons of old cars, as well as signs and advertisements on the walls that remain virtually untouched by time in the Detroit-Superior Underground Station.
5. National Acme

6. Warner & Swasey Observatory

Built as a gift for Case Western University, this abandoned observatory outside Cleveland was forced to close when light pollution from the nearby city made it impossible to operate effectively.

What Are The Most Haunted Places in Cleveland?

  • Erie Street in downtown Cleveland is without a doubt one of the most haunted places in the city. The street is home to a nine-acre cemetery and some of the ghosts that still haunt the land are so infamous, that they are known by name.
  • Near Cleveland is the historic and haunted Farnam Manor. The 3,400-acre property has a history that dates back to the 1600s and its lifespan has included being home to battlefields and speakeasies.  Today the manor is a museum, and both guides and ghosts offer visitors a unique glimpse into local history.
  • One of Cleveland’s most haunted neighborhoods is Ohio City.  Just west of downtown, Ohio City has all the makings of a good haunt: urban legends, historic buildings, and cemeteries.
