Cincinnati has so many great parks, ranging from small and historic to massive and brand new. Our city as a whole is out enjoying an active lifestyle more than ever, and one of the parks that are leading the way is Summit Park. Located on the land of the former Blue Ash Airport, this unique park continues to develop and change, so much so that each time you visit, it’s a little different. This incredible park is one of the best in Cincinnati and it’s right here in our own backyard.
Summit Park is a 130-acre property in the heart of Blue Ash that was once an airport. The city had a vision for a massive gathering space for the community, and really for Cincinnati in general, and it's definitely reaching that goal. The park is a combination of nature, play, entertainment, dining, and more, and development continues to take place.
The Great Lawn of the park is a beautiful open space that has already been filled many times for community events. It's the perfect venue for all sorts of festivals, concerts, gatherings, and everyday happenings.
The amenities at Summit Park are what make it so unique and what has caught the attention of locals and visitors. This main pavilion area is ideal for hanging out or meeting up with friends, and the park, in general, is perfect for all ages. In the winter time, be sure to keep an eye out for the ice skating rink that is placed right here in this section of the park.
When visiting, you'll want to arrive hungry, because there are a number of dining options right there within the park. Grab a gourmet hot dog at Senate, a glass of wine at Tahona Kitchen + Bar, among other choices. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert are all served here, adding even more appeal to this one-of-a-kind park.
Kids and parents love Summit Park because there really is no other playground like it in the city. This creative play area was one of the first features to open and it's definitely a must-visit for all families.
Another kid-friendly zone just opened with the natural playscape - a play area that connects children with nature and encourages creativity and problem-solving. The zip lines, water play section, and natural elements, as well as its many other features, have elevated the level of fun at Summit Park even more.
And speaking of elevated, the Observation Tower is also now open and provides some of the best views of Hamilton County. Built on one of the highest spots in the area, this 150-foot tower has an observation deck that can be reached either by nine flights of stairs or an elevator. The tower is open every day of the week from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The concept behind Summit Park was to bring the community together, encourage an active lifestyle, and provide a unique destination for those who live in Blue Ash and beyond. Cincinnati has fallen in love with the charm and unique variety the park offers, and thankfully it all can be found right in our own backyard.
