Shawnee State Park Offers Miles Of Hiking Trails Near Cincinnati

Adventure awaits all over the city of Cincinnati, but even more outdoor experiences can be had with just a short drive. The Queen City is close to several incredibly scenic areas, one of which is just two hours east of the city, along the Ohio River. Shawnee State Forest covers thousands of acres of natural wonders, and within the forest is Shawnee State Park. Shawnee State Park and the incredible Shawnee Lodge are located just a couple hours from Cincinnati. The park is a part of the 63,000-acre Shawnee State Forest - the largest in Ohio. The area is known for its outdoor recreation, and its hiking trails should definitely not be overlooked.

The park is close enough that you could make a day trip to explore a few miles of the extensive system that winds through the forest. There are plenty of trail options for any length or difficulty level.

The trails range from short and sweet to miles upon miles and completely off the grid. Of course, most will choose an option that falls somewhere in the middle.
