If you’re local to Cincinnati and have been here a while, it’s easy to take our beautiful city for granted. Each area of our city has something unique and special to offer and it’s just a lovely place to explore. If you feel you need to renew your love for the Queen City, then make a trip down to Smale Riverfront Park. It’s hard to believe this popular park was once parking lots and empty space, as it is now a beloved gathering place in our city. It also happens to be one of the best places to watch the sunset in Cincinnati. Take an evening stroll along the path through Smale and then enjoy the fun at a game or at The Banks for a delightful evening downtown.
If you visit Smale Riverfront Park often, you may agree that it's difficult to remember this area of our city before the park was built.
It's now a popular spot for events, meeting up with friends, date nights, family playtime, and much more. It's beautiful position along the river and the paved path that connects it to other riverfront features are also highlights of the area.
Many would argue that the best time of day to visit the park is during sunset in Cincinnati.
Smale offers views of our Roebling Suspension Bridge that weren't really possible before. You can walk along both sides and underneath it, and the photos that have been captured of the bridge are breathtaking.

If you continue along the path through the park past The Banks and Great American Ballpark, eventually you'll send up at Sawyer Point and the Serpentine Wall.
The views of Cincinnati from a park bench on the other side of the river are unmatched. If you've always wanted to get that perfect skyline shot, this is your chance.
Back in Cincinnati, head over to the Skystar Wheel and take a ride as the sun goes down.
The views from the top are outstanding and you'll be able to rest a bit from all of the walking. This popular attraction is sticking around Cincinnati, but you'll still want to plan a sunset visit soon.
Turn this sunset walk into an entire evening out with dinner and drinks at The Banks.
Choose from a variety of restaurants - from fine dining to casual - and if it matches up with your schedule, catch a game or show nearby. Or for another fun idea, challenge yourself at The Escape Game, which you can learn more about here.
Sunset in Cincinnati is a magical time and it really shines from Smale Riverfront Park.
Grab a seat on a swing or slowly walk along the edge of our city and fall back in love with this beautiful place you call home.
