While Cincinnati offers many parks throughout the city, it’s difficult to find a true farm within a few minutes of downtown. Agriculture once dominated in this region, and as much as we enjoy the Cincinnati we know today, it’s nice to spend a day on the farm with the family. Located just across the river in Wilder, Kentucky, Sunrock Farm is one of the few true farms you will find so close to the skyscrapers and stadiums of Cincinnati. This hillside farm is a charming place and definitely a spot where your family can spend a magical day.
If you've ever driven along 471 south into Kentucky, then chances are you've spotted the hillside sign for Sunrock Farm. This local gem has been educating and serving the community for over 30 years, and with its location just 10 minutes from downtown, many locals have memories from spending time here.
The farm itself is actually 160 years old and stretches across 100 acres. It's truly a hidden gem, but once you've found it, you'll fall in love with the charming gardens, animals, and the staff who works hard to keep it all going.
Sunrock Farm is not open to the public daily; rather they accept reservations for tours from families, schools, and other groups. If your family wants to try something different and get up close and personal with some friendly barn animals, Sunrock Farm makes for a great outing with a little planning ahead.
When you visit the farm, expect a hands-on experience where all ages will learn something. You'll get to tour the historic farm, meet and interact with the animals, and relax on the pastoral property.
