In a day when everyone seems to want everything right away and patience is a fleeting concept, sometimes it is nice to slow down, relax, and treat yourself to something that takes a little more effort than a drive-thru window. Made-from-scratch food is something most would admit they love, but perhaps do not get to enjoy as often as they like, especially when dining out. But there is a family restaurant on the east side of Cincinnati that despite its hardships, has been serving up homemade, authentic dishes for decades. Laszlo’s Iron Skillet Restaurant in Withamsville has a menu that is filled with scratch-made, Eastern European classics, among other dishes, and your tastebuds will go crazy for their delicious creations.
Laszlo's Iron Skillet originally opened in 1973 in Mt. Washington, but today you'll find them on Ohio Pike in Withamsville.
Laszlo & Elizabeth Molnar opened their family business to serve favorite Eastern European recipes that had been passed down through generations of their families. They also looked to serve the community and connect with people, which they definitely did and continue to do today.
After surviving a flood, a devastating fire in 2013 forced them to close their doors. They were able to seek out a temporary location, and finally, their current spot that serves up the same great food in a new, inviting environment.

The interior of the restaurant is nicely outfitted and comfortable for any size party. The restaurant can also host events, and guests will surely love the food they have to offer.
The outdoor patio and biergarten is a favorite space in the new location and it's a great dining spot on a nice day or evening. On Saturday evenings from June through September, you're also treated to live music and a great atmosphere in which to gather with friends and family.
Aside from the inviting nature of Laszlo's, the food is what makes this Cincinnati restaurant stand out. Everything is made from scratch, from the bread to the sweet desserts.
A burger is not just a burger at Laszlo's. The bun is made in-house, the fries are fresh cut and crispy, and everything about it is perfectly seasoned and tasty.
But when you visit for the first time, you have to try one of their Eastern European specialties, and the easiest way to do that is with the European Combo Platter.
Choose from authentic options such as goulash, spaetzles, stuffed cabbage rolls, and more. That's just the beginning of the European flavors you'll find on the menu.
Made-from-scratch options change daily, but you're always sure to find something as delicious as this fudge-topped cream puff on the menu.
When you're ready to give this unique, flavorful restaurant a try, you'll find them open:
Tuesday & Wednesday: 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Thursday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday: 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
