Going out to eat doesn’t always have to be just about the food. Although the menu and what ends up in our bellies is definitely the most important feature, many restaurants grab our attention in unconventional ways. We shared several wacky eateries in Cincinnati previously here, and another one that’s impossible not to love is The Swampwater Grill on Kellogg Avenue. This quirky and unique restaurant serves up some rare cajun, BBQ, and seafood treats and all in an atmosphere that is unmatched in Cincinnati.
The Swampwater Grill is a unique restaurant on the east side of downtown on Kellogg Avenue. It specializes in Cajun specialties, BBQ, and plenty of seafood options.
This quirky eatery is the definition of a hidden gem, as it can actually be easy to miss. It's tucked into the same complex as an antique mall, so be sure not to drive past this one-of-a-kind dining destination. They serve lunch and dinner on Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

You don't even have to enter the restaurant before recognizing that Swampwater Grill is unique. The bizarre name is your first clue, and it's just a peek into the quirky charm you'll find inside.
The interior feels a bit like you've gone on vacation, without leaving Cincinnati. You'll see nets, twinkle lights, and plenty of space to either cozy up for a date night or spread out with a larger group.
The menu at Swampwater Grill is a highlight that most guests find unique and enticing. It's filled with seafood, rare items like Gator Bites, and much more.
You can try a number of seafood favorites such as oysters (try them chargrilled), shrimp, catfish, crawfish, and flavorful Po-Boys. And the can't miss item that everyone should try is the Gator Bites. Even if it sounds a little weird, give them a taste. If seafood isn't your thing, there are plenty of choices like mouthwatering barbecue, burgers, and wings.
The quirky factor spills over from the food menu to the drinks, with specialties like the Swamp Juice. This sweet drink definitely adds to that vacation vibe.
After you've ordered your Swamp Juice and perhaps an order of Swamp Pasta, sit back and relax for a bit and take in all of the quirky fun. This unique Cincinnati restaurant offers many things that others don't, and it's not hard to see why it has become a local favorite.
