Pizza is a food we can all get behind, and pretty much everyone has an opinion on the best slice of pie in Cincinnati. New pizza parlors are popping up all over town. You could easily spend a year trying a new spot each week, narrowing it down to your own personal pizza bucket list. If that’s too much pizza for you, then we’ve done the deliciously difficult work and come up with 14 of the best pizza restaurants in Cincinnati that will definitely make your mouth water. Check them out and see if your favorite made the list!
1. Ramundo's Pizzeria - Mt. Lookout & Mt. Washington
Ramundo's is a family owned pizza parlor that began in Mt. Lookout with the goal of providing Cincinnati with authentic, New York-style pizza by the slice. They started this delicious trend and they are still going strong with their mouthwatering pizza and another location in Mt. Washington. The Italian Sausage Sub is also worth a try!
If you have yet to discover this gem in Covington, now is the time! Known as a deli, The Gruff has outstanding pizza that's fresh and flavorful. They have unique combinations, as well as classic favorites.
If you want some authentic Neapolitan Pizza, head to Pizzelii on the east side. They only use the freshest ingredients and specialize in fast, friendly service. Try the Cincy Goetta Pizza with a fried egg on top.
This may be a Columbus based pizza joint, but their food is so good, we want to claim them here in Cincy, too! Any of their pizzas (their crusts are perfect), salads, and sandwiches are incredible. Even the Brussels Sprouts alone are worth a visit. That should tell you something!
Fireside Pizza in Walnut Hills is definitely one of the coolest (or maybe we should say hottest?) spots in town for a slice of pie. You can't beat the ambiance of this old repurposed fire station. There's often live music, the atmosphere is cozy, and the pizza is fresh and delicious - especially when paired with one of their cold drink options.
Located inside MadTree Brewing in Oakley (and around town in a food truck), Catch-a-Fire Pizza is yet another delicious option for a slice of unforgettable pizza. Try something untraditional, but even their basic cheese is outstanding. All of their pies pair perfectly with whatever MadTree has on tap the day you stop by.
You've got to love a pizzeria with a great name and playful theme, and Goodfellas has both. Their Mainstrasse and OTR locations are both filled with vintage appeal and their pizza is straight out of New York. The Don is a favorite specialty pie, but anything you choose will be a treat for your tastebuds.
We've shared our love for Mac's on the Pike before, but it is definitely deserving of a spot on your Cincinnati pizza bucket list. This laid back restaurant is the perfect family pizza parlor. Their menu is actually full of delicious options, like their innovative and scrumptious Gyro Pizza.
9. Taft's Brewing Company - Brewpourium & Apizza - Spring Grove Avenue
Taft's Brewing Company's Brewpourium and Apizza is one of the newest spots for delicious New Haven-style pizza, which (in their words) is a " hotter, crispier, and dirtier descendant of Neapolitan style pie." The pizza is great and it's definitely different than others you'll find throughout the city.
Strong's Brick Oven Pizzeria has three Tristate locations and each one has its own style, but all offer the same mouthwatering pizza. You can tell each creation is made with fresh ingredients and the brick oven flavor makes their pizza stand out from the rest. Save room for dessert here, their sweet pies are insanely good!
Wood-fired pizza seems to be all the rage these days, and A Tavola does it right. With locations in Madeira and OTR, the menu here is authentically Italian and the pizza is always fresh. Even the plain cheese is flavorful enough to satisfy any pizza cravings.
If you're looking for something completely different (for both the pizza and the atmosphere), check out Zablong downtown. Known for being "peculiar," their pizza is oval shaped and made fresh to order. The food is reason enough to visit, but you'll also love the friendly staff, laid back vibe, and tables that were painted by the animals at the zoo!
Talk about pizza with a view! Incline Public House offers one of the best views of Cincinnati and their food is just as spectacular as the surroundings. Keep in mind that they do not take reservations, but there's really no better spot worth waiting for a table and the pizza alone is worth it!
Did you think we were going to leave out LaRosa's? It's a Queen City classic, so it's impossible to build a pizza bucket list without giving a nod to this pie shop. Locals tend to have strong feelings about Buddy's famous pizza; love it or hate it, it's a big part of Cincinnati's vibrant food culture.
